Each of Xoco’s chocolates can be traced to the specific farmer. We pay our partner farmers well above market prices for their better, single variety cacao. We buy all their cacao directly from the farm even when conditions are rough.

Edvelio enjoys a good, strong cup of coffee in the morning. After having enjoyed his coffee, he tends to the two products to which he has dedicated his diversified farm; Mayan Red cocoa and tilapia fish. At first, Edvelio had a hard time succeeding with the cocoa farming, but after partnering with and getting help from Xoco, he is now experiencing great progress.

Fidel is always on the go – when he's not taking care of his crops, he enjoys spending time away from his farm running errands in the city. He shops groceries and visits the markets in his local town. But the most important thing in Fidel's life at the moment is his four grandkids, who often visit him and his wife at the farm.

Francisco has a small house in the middle of his farm where he likes to spend the night every now and then. Sometimes alone, and sometimes with his grandson, who occasionally accompanies him. It’s a good place to wake up in the morning, he tells. When there is not too much work to do on the farm, he enjoys going for a ride in the mountains on his motorcycle.
